Counterweight
rigging system runaways can be a serious problem backstage.
When counterweight sets are not properly balanced, the
operator can lose control of the set allowing it to
“run away” — possibly causing damage
or injury. The SureLock rope lock incorporates a load
sensing mechanism that cannot be opened in an out of
balance situation, preventing runaways. The SureLock
is one component of a backstage safety program. As with
all equipment, users must be properly trained and supervised
when using theatrical rigging equipment. |
